Landing crafts are small boats and transportation or military power tools that sail in the ocean. It is usually used during an amphibious assault to transport or carry and land military forces (such as infantry and combat vehicles) from sea to shore.
Those famous and heavily used were the Normandy landings in France during the Second World War, the Mediterranean Sea, and many Pacific Island beach battles. In the era of sailing, large ships and small boats were used as landing craft, but the emergence of ships caused the small boats of ships to shrink too small, so landing craft was designed and created by experts for landing craft.
The need to use a large number of landing craft in the latter part of World War II led to the design of a large number of landing craft of different designs in the United Kingdom and the United States. Because they need to be used properly on the beach, most of them are designed with flat bottom hulls, and the design is mostly with a flat foreside suspension bridge to replace the normal bow and bow. This makes them difficult to control when operating in rough seas and makes passengers very uncomfortable and uncomfortable.

The landing craft is a small amphibious ship, which is specially manufactured to transport landing troops and their weapons, equipment and supplies to land. The landing craft can transport landing soldiers and their weapons and equipment to land directly on the beach. It can be used as a transfer tool during shore-to-shore landing by transporting troops, vehicles, tanks, and materials to land directly; or during ship-to-shore landing. The landing craft appeared before the Second World War. During the war, the United States, Britain, Japan and other countries built about 100,000 ships.

The loading objects are divided into personnel landing craft, vehicle landing craft and tank landing craft according to the main loading objects.

The loading capacity is divided into small, medium and large landing craft according to displacement and loading capacity.

The small landing craft has a full load displacement of 10 to 20 tons, a range of about 100 nautical miles, and can carry more than 30 landing soldiers or about 3 tons of materials. The medium-sized landing craft has a full load displacement of 50-100 tons, a range of 100-200 nautical miles, and can carry 1 tank or 200 landing soldiers or dozens of tons of materials.

The large landing craft has a full load displacement of 200 to 500 tons, a battery life of about 1,000 nautical miles, and can carry 3 to 5 tanks or hundreds of landing soldiers, or 100 to 300 tons of materials.

Features: The speed of the landing craft is mostly below 12 knots. The bow is equipped with a bow door and springboard the same width as the boat. The loading compartment is open. Equipped with machine guns or small-caliber naval guns. The draft is shallow and the maneuverability is flexible, and it can go deep into shallow waters and beaches that the landing ship cannot reach; but the endurance is small, the speed is low, the seakeeping is poor, and the range of movement is restricted.

Air cushion landing craft, air cushion landing craft appeared in the 1970s, with high speed and unique amphibious, it is an ideal landing tool. China developed the "722" air-cushion landing test boat in 1980, with a total weight of 65 tons, a maximum speed of 50 knots, a endurance of about 200 nautical miles, and a capacity of 150 landing soldiers or 15 tons of materials; it was built in 1989. 722"-Ⅱ type air cushion landing craft.
