NASA has released details of a series of equipment planned for transport to the moon, including robotic landers, bouncy drones (hybrid robots combining flight and ground-jumping mobility), and lunar rovers, all part of its plan to establish a lunar base.

Blue Origin, the space company founded by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, is one of the companies celected to participate in the manufacture of these devices.

The United States hopes to send Americans back to the moon before President Donald Trump leaves office in 2029.

However, NASA is competing with China for lunar rights, meaning the agency faces pressure to win this new space race.

In March of this year, NASA announced a $20 billion plan to establish a permanent nuclear and solar-powered base at the lunar south pole by 2032.

China is actively pursuing its own plans, aiming to send humans to the moon by 2030.
